Clumsy (Illustration Friday)

Here is my entry for this weeks Illustration Friday.  Unfortunately due coping with illness and other social duties I was unable to devout as much time to my piece this week so what we are left with I'm afraid is a rather rushed effort which I put together last night in a couple of hours.  Hopefully next week I will be able to conjure something more in keeping with the recent high quality that seems to have developed throughout the Illustration Friday community.

Intricate (Illustration Friday)

For this weeks subject I instantly thought of creating some sort of pattern of design with an intricate quality, I considered tree's as my starting point as nature is infinitely intricate.

As I was working on this piece I had a further idea to expand this image out So will be updating /uploading that sometime soon.

Breezy (Illustration Friday)

This is my take on this weeks topic breezy largely drawn by hand then scanned into photoshop I wanted to keep my image simple yet striking at the same time.

Colour is always an important element of illustration for myself as always I try to maintain a rule of thumb that less is more.

This was a sketchbook piece I did a while back which I touched up and applied colour in photoshop. Think I must have been thinking about Alice in wonderland at the time.

Celebrate (Illustration Friday)

Not sure where to begin to explain where this particular part of my mind this piece sprang forth from.

Suffice to say I had an idea for combining traditional Mexican Cinco de Mayo-esque dancers with a look not unlike the ancient Greek statue the Venus de Milo.

Messing around with the colours in photoshop I decided to make it an underwater enviroment.
